Privacy Policy

This is the plain-English privacy policy for Samastam. We aim to collect as little data as possible, store nothing we do not need, and never sell anything.

What we collect

Tool inputs. Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. When you paste a GST number, upload a PDF, or type into a calculator, that data does not leave your device unless the tool explicitly says it calls an external API (for example, a government verification endpoint), in which case the page tells you up front.

Analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that record page views and aggregate counts but do not set cookies and do not identify individual users. We also load Google Analytics 4 to power Search Console reporting; GA4 may set cookies. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below for the full list of what sets cookies here.

Newsletter. If you join our email list, we store the email address you give us and the date you joined. That is the only field we keep. We use a third-party email service (Buttondown or ConvertKit) to actually send the mail; their privacy policy applies on top of ours.

Contact email. If you write to us, we keep the email you send for as long as we need to answer it.

What we do not collect

We do not sell data. We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles about you ourselves, and we do not require accounts to use the free tools. We should be straight with you about one limit on that: because we show Google ads, Google and its advertising partners may build their own profiles and use them to personalise the ads you see. That happens on Google’s side, not ours, and the section below explains how to turn it off.

Advertising

Samastam shows ads through Google AdSense. Google decides which ads appear and where they are placed on the page.

Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve those ads and to measure how they perform. This may include personalised advertising — ads selected using your prior visits to this site and to other sites across the web.

You can turn off personalised ads at any time in Google’s own settings: Google Ads Settings. Google explains what it collects for advertising, and the partners involved, in How Google uses cookies in advertising. These controls live with Google and apply across every site that uses its ads, not just this one.

Cookies and similar technologies

Here is everything that sets cookies or similar storage on this site today:

Google AdSense · advertising. Set by Google and its ad partners to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads as described above.

Google Analytics 4 · measurement. Loaded conditionally to report aggregate traffic for Search Console. May set cookies when it loads.

Cloudflare Web Analytics · measurement. Cookieless. It sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

We do not set advertising cookies of our own. You can block, clear, or limit cookies — including third-party advertising cookies — through your browser settings, and most browsers let you do this per site. Blocking cookies will not stop the tools on this site from working, since most of them run entirely in your browser.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google shows you a consent message before advertising cookies are used, and records what you choose. That message is provided through Google’s certified consent management platform.

You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie choices link at the bottom of any page, which reopens the same message. That link only appears when a consent message applies to you, so you will not see it if you are browsing from a region where one is not shown — in that case use your browser settings, or Google’s ad settings linked above, to control cookies and ad personalisation.

Affiliate links

Some tool pages link to third-party services (banks, accounting software, tax filing platforms). When you click those links and sign up, the third party may pay us a referral fee. The link itself adds a tracking parameter so the partner can attribute the signup; we do not see any of your personal information through these links.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete any information we hold about you. Email hello@samastam.xyz and we will action it within a reasonable time. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the one-click link in every email.

Children

Samastam is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we materially change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where the change is significant, post a note on the homepage.
